Lavelle Kay

Lavelle Kay, 84, passed away on November 9, 2023, in Robeline, LA.  He was born on December 30, 1938 to Johnnie and Orene Rials Kay in Natchitoches, LA.  Lavelle was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Melba Marie Kay; a son, Kent Kay; a sister, Francis Woodruff; a granddaughter, Meaghan Beaudoin; and his long-time companion, Dorothy McLaren.

Lavelle is survived by his daughter, Donna Kay of Robeline; and a son, Danny Kay and his wife Anita of Natchitoches; his grandchildren, Johnny, Joey, Ashton, Russ, Jason, Jessica, Lacey and Jennifer; a sister, Betty Movan; as well as numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lavelle was a true Louisiana outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.  One of his special times was a yearly squirrel hunt with his children and grandchildren.  He especially loved spending time on the creek in Kisatchie and he knew every square inch of Kisatchie Bottom.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A service to honor his life will be held at 11 am on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Weaver Cemetery in Flora, LA.  The family will receive friends from 4pm until 8 pm on Sunday November 12^th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jason Kay, Waylon Rials, Matthew Janet, Aiden Kay, Asen Kay, Conner Kay, Brayden Guilliams and Hunter Beaudoin.
