Lane Taylor

Lane Taylor, 86 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away on November 13, 2023.  He was born on July 15, 1937 to Horace and Nora Hatten Taylor in Meadville, MS.  He was one of three sons, James Taylor and Robert Taylor were his brothers.

For many years Lane worked as a brick mason but held positions at Western Geophysical, The Alexandria Town Talk, but most recently was a delivery man for Causey’s and Cade’s Pharmacy.  The job he loved the most was cutting grass, he could be seen all over town cutting grass in pink shorts, no shirt and work boots.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Diane Kreier Taylor; 3 sons, Dr. Will Freeman and wife Marci of Prairieville, LA, Eric Freeman and wife Deanna of St. Augustine, FL, and Mark Freeman and wife Kimberly of Gilmer, TX; grandchildren, Austin and wife Louise, Kim and husband Chris, Tiffany and husband Corban, Trevor and wife Breanna, Jordan, Sarah, U.S. Navy Midshipman Andi and Wyatt; great grandchildren, London, Indie and Myles.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Natchitoches for the exceptional care given to Lane, and especially to Evey, Dorothy, Mariah, Hailey, Melissa, and Wendy for weekly nursing care, Kasey for checking in on him, and to Buster Jordan for your prayers.  To a close friend who would sit with Lane, Juanita Remo, your compassion is greatly appreciated.
