A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Kathryn Ullrich Meric will be held at 11 am Thursday, June 2, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Charlie Ray serving as celebrant. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Catholic Church Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 9 am until 10:30 am on Thursday June 2nd at St. Augustine Catholic Church with recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 10:30 am. Kathy, 81 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away on May 26, 2022 in Alexandria, LA. She was born on September 15, 1940 to George Francis Ullrich and Vivian D'Aubin Ullrich in Baton Rouge, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Nelville “Pat” Meric. She is survived by her children, Lisa Bordelon (Brandon) and Robert Phelps, Jr. (Nancy Mueller); sisters, Dee Hawthorne and Marilyn Strain; grandchildren, Robert,IV (Winter), Jonathan (Erika), Tiffany ( Jordan), Caitlin, and Tess; and great grandchildren, Tyler, Paisley, Jonah, Brooks, Penelope, Serena, and Kara Kathy was a devout Catholic lady and a faithful parishioner of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Association, PEO Sorority and Phi Mu Sorority. She worked for many years as a nurse with The Women's Resource Center in Natchitoches and with Hospice of Natchitoches. Her heart was in caring for those that are poor, suffering, and the deprived. She donated her time and resources to the Association of Divine Providence and the Society of St. Vincent De Paul, two organizations that share the gospel and provide assistance to those less fortunate. She also volunteered her time with Radio Maria that communicates God's divine love and mercy with its listeners. Each year she looked forward to making meat pies for the church fair and the cherished fellowship with her church family during that fundraising opportunity. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
