Kathleen "Kathy" Bundrick, a dedicated educator, devout parishioner, and passionate community leader, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, shortly after celebrating her 80th birthday surrounded by loved ones. Always full of energy and blessed with a radiant, positive outlook on life, Kathy brought light, warmth, and enthusiasm to everything she did.

Born on July 13, 1946, Kathy devoted her life to the noble calling of education. As a passionate reading and literacy specialist, she spent the majority of her distinguished career teaching in Marthaville, Louisiana, accumulating 35 years of dedicated service. Beyond her own classroom, Kathy’s impact on education was far-reaching: she served as an observing teacher for Northwestern State University (NSU) and a mentor to teachers across the Natchitoches Parish School Board (NPSB), shaping the careers of countless future educators. Her commitment to educational excellence and sisterhood was honored through her active membership in Alpha Delta Kappa (ΑΔΚ), an honorary sorority for women educators, as well as Beta Sigma Phi.

Kathy was equally passionate about preserving the rich culture and history of Natchitoches Parish. She served as Treasurer for the Natchitoches Historic Foundation, giving generously of her leadership to safeguard local historic sites.

Her Catholic faith was the central pillar of her life. A faithful parishioner who attended the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Natchitoches, Kathy gave decades of devotion to church ministry. She served as Regent of the local chapter of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Showing her deep compassion for grieving families, Kathy also served faithfully on the church Bereavement Committee, offering comfort, care, and hospitality to others in their times of need.

Beyond her civic and spiritual devotions, Kathy loved taking time to relax and unwind by the pool—enjoying sunny afternoons floating—and spending joyful moments working puzzles with family and friends.

Kathy’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving son, David Dupree; her brothers, Hal Monroe Bundrick (and his wife, Anna) and Glen Herman Bundrick; and her cherished nieces, great-nieces, and nephews, along with her colleagues, friends, and generations of former students and mentee teachers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Monroe Bundrick and Juanita Cecilia Ferrer Bundrick.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 11:00 am at Memory Lawn cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 9:00-10:4 5 am, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

Memorial Donations: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathy’s memory to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
