Katherine Martin Sims

September 4, 1935 — May 1, 2026

Katherine Martin Sims, a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026. Born on September 4, 1935, Katherine was the 8th child of 9 born to Benjamin and Kizzie Martin.  She was cherished by all who knew her for her loving nature and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.

Though small in stature, Katherine possessed a remarkably big heart. Her love for God and family was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every challenge and joy. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with her loved ones, enveloping them in her warmth and care.

Katherine is survived by her beloved daughter, Pam Stephens, and her husband, Ricky. She also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Derek and Justin Stephens, and three treasured great-grandchildren: Gracie, Konner, and Isabella Stephens. The legacy of love and kindness she instilled in her family will undoubtedly endure for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sims; her parents, Benjamin Martin and Kizzie Whatley Martin; as well as all of her brothers and sisters.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. Their kindness and compassionate care helped ease the pain of losing our loved one, and for that, we are deeply grateful.

Katherine Martin Sims will be remembered with deep affection and respect. Her gentle spirit and loving presence will be profoundly missed but never forgotten by all who were blessed to know her.

The family will receive friends from 10 am until 12 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches.  A procession to Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery where a graveside service will be held to honor her life.
