A service to honor the life of Peter Calvin Broadway, Jr., known as “Junior” to everyone, will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 at 10 AM at Rocky Mount Cemetery in Robeline with Bro. Junior Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, June 27, 2021 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Junior was born on April 28, 1933 to Peter Calvin Broadway, Sr. and Myrtie Sims Broadway in Sabine Parish. He passed away on June 25, 2021 at his home, with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Myrtie Broadway; brothers, Julius Broadway and Curtis Broadway; sisters, Alice Taylor, Ima Dubois, Lorene Oxley, Faye Powell, Delores Ivy, and Barbara Nell Jordan; his son, Joseph Broadway; and grandson, Joshua Broadway. Junior is survived by his wife of 65 years, Retta Pruitt Broadway; sons, Stanley Broadway (Kathy), Garland Broadway (Betty), Terry Broadway (Janet), Rickey Broadway (Teresa), Randy Broadway (Becky), Rodney Broadway (Cindy), and Gary Broadway (Lisa); one sister, Linda Cobb; 2 brothers, James Broadway and Jerry Broadway. He was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Junior was a hard-working man all of his life and taught his boys to work hard and respect others, especially their elders. He was a member of the Robeline Masonic Lodge No. 344 since 1978. Junior loved to hunt and fish, and loved the friends he made over the years doing just that. He was a founding member of the Northwest Louisiana Fox Hunters Association. All of his grandchildren were his pride and joy and he loved his entire family very much and was proud of them. He taught his boys how to shoot straight. Mr. Broadway had a very fulfilling life and he did it his way! He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be his sons, Stanley, Garland, Terry, Rickey, Randy, Rodney, and Gary.
