June Beatrice Stringer passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the age of 96. She was born in Jena, Louisiana to the union of her parents, Daisy and William Pinkney Barker. June was a devoted wife and mother. Her best times were being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends. She was a Christian and loved her church, Trinity Baptist. She always looked forward to being with her friends of the Ladies Sunday School class. One of her biggest joys in life was cooking for family and friends. We will cherish the memories of good times around her kitchen table. She will be greatly missed. June was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Stringer; son, Robert Stringer; parents, Daisy and William Pinkney Barker; brothers Tom Barker, Charles Barker, Dan Barker, and Ralph Barker; sisters Beth Schultz, Patricia Maggio, and Mary Frances Myer. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Karen (Steve) Harkins; Suzie(David) Sheppard; Mary(Jock) Wright; her grandchildren, Erika Harkins; Cole(Amy) Harkins; Ragan (Kelly) Manning; Jon(Carmella) McCart; Kyle Stringer; Anna Wright, , Sam Wright, and James Wright; great-grandchildren, Garrett McCart; Mason McCart, Collins Harkins, Reilly Abernathy, Griffin Abernathy , Kolton Manning, Kane Stringer and Ayden Stringer. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Trinity Baptist church located at 527 Howard Street, Natchitoches, Louisiana. Service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches under the direction of Blanchard-St Denis Funeral Home In Natchitoches. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Cole Harkins, Kenny Durr, Malcolm Michael, Garrett McCart, Jon McCart, Mason McCart and Len Barker. Honorary pallbearers are Kelly Manning, Dennis Nolley, Troy, Ralph and Greg Maggio. Special thanks to Hospice of Natchitoches for their help during this difficult time. Special thanks to Maria, Mariana, and Melissa for being so kind to our mom. Also, very special thanks to caregivers Danielle Wurster and Donna Hale.
