Judith Marie
Shoemaker
Mar 26, 1940 — Jun 20, 2026
Judith Marie Primm Shoemaker, born on March 26, 1940, peacefully entered into Heaven on June 20, 2026. She now rejoins her beloved husband, Rev. Otis Shoemaker, with whom she shared a wonderful 68 years of marriage.
A devoted mother, Judith is lovingly remembered by her children: JoAnn Robertson and her husband Mike of Robeline, Kenneth Shoemaker of Robeline, James Shoemaker and his wife Sher of Many, Thomas Shoemaker and his wife Stacy of Many, Karren Hammontree and her husband Johnny of Florien, and Glen Shoemaker and his wife Deborah of Robeline. Her legacy continues through her 16 grandbabies, 13 great-grandbabies, and 2 great-great-grandbabies, along with two cherished nieces, Debbie Primm of Baton Rouge and Elizabeth Primm of California.
Preceding her in death were her husband Otis, her brother Sonny Primm and his wife Elaine, her great-granddaughter A'Lyssia Carlock, and her parents Tom and Alma Primm.
Judith's life was a testament to love and strong Christian values. Marrying Otis in 1958, they created a family grounded in faith and discipline and based on Christian values. She was a nurturing presence, known for loving everyone equally and acting as a second mother to her grandchildren. Her gentle guidance often came with a firm hand, never hesitant to use her “Fly Flap” to keep everyone on the right path. She enjoyed reminiscing about the good ole days when times seemed simpler.
Even as her eyesight waned, Judith's dedication to her Bible was unwavering. She found joy in family gatherings, cherishing the moments when all were together, even amid the delightful chaos.
We are deeply grateful for her love and cherish the memories of a life lived with grace. We find solace in knowing she rests peacefully with her Savior. We thank God for blessing us with a Christian Mother and for his mercy on her these last few days.
A service celebrating her home going will be held at 2 pm on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Hickory Grove Congregational Methodist Church in Robeline, LA. She will be laid to rest at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 5 pm on Thursday, June 25th at Hickory Grove CMC located at 8673 LA-6, Robeline, LA 71469.
