JR Davis

A memorial service for Otha Harrison Davis Jr. will be Thursday, May 12th from 6-8 p.m. at the New Life Evangelism Center located at 4810 University Parkway in Natchitoches. How can one describe JR Davis? Dramatic. Entertaining. Eccentric. He was so loving and caring. He’d give you his last dollar and do without to help anyone. “But don’t tell anybody”, he would say. He was born on October 13, 1959 to Otha Davis Sr. and Mayvone Davis. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Donna Davis Lindsey. He is survived by his two sons, Jacob Davis (Bethanee) and Josh Davis, one granddaughter Reagan Lynn Davis, two sisters, Jo Ann Edwards, and Judy Davis, and his nieces and nephews who will miss him to no end. There is no way you could meet him and then forget him. Everyone got a different version of JR, but it was one that was genuine. He had a few true good friends that stuck it out over the years. The family would like to bring special attention and a big thank you to Lynn Oxley. When he walked through those pearly gates, we know his sister Donna greeted him with a “now JR, you’ll have to act right up here”’ and to all of those who got there before him, they heard “Hey Dude”. I sincerely hope that Heaven has Community Coffee.
