For many years, Ivadell was a pastor’s wife, serving alongside her husband Edwin in various churches in the Congregational Methodist denomination. Music was always a meaningful part of her life. At a very early age, before her feet could even reach the pedals, she once filled in as church pianist by playing the melody with one finger. At Westminster College she was a part of choirs and ensembles, and continued to be involved in church music ministry as choral director and church pianist.
Throughout her life, Ivadell was an integral part of her beloved Marthaville and Bethany communities. She served as a school teacher for over twenty-five years, with almost all of those years being at Marthaville Elementary, teaching first and second grade. She served for many years as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Bethany Cemetery, where so many of her family and life-long friends are laid to rest.
A visitation on Saturday, October 24th to receive friends will be 1-3 PM at Jennings Chapel Congregational Methodist Church, with a Memorial Service to follow immediately at 3 PM. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery. Rev. Joe Hendrickson, Rev. Butch Bruce, Rev. Charlotte Birdwell, and Rev. Brian Jennings will officiate.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are her sons-in-law and grandsons: Chris Bruce, Jim Mitchell, Logan Bruce, Carter Fenton, Ross Fenton, Logan Johnson, Micah Mitchell, and Wesley Mitchell.
The family wishes to thank all our friends and family for their many warm condolences, acts of kindness, and prayers. She loved you all very much.
