Joseph Benson Harrell Jr., (64) passed away at his home on December 21st, 2023. Born the youngest of 4 on December 26th, 1958 to Joseph Sr & Beatrice Harrell, Joe lived a rambunctious young life in Natchitoches, LA where he graduated from Natchitoches Central High School. Joe served in the military and for the last 18 years, has kept the Natchitoches police and fire departments on the road, as the foreman for the city garage.

“Dooley” is survived by his loving wife, of 47 years, Sherry Harrell, his two sisters JoAnn Shaw and Brenda Pratt, and his children Chasity Hassan, Keith Harrell (wife Kyndal), and Michael Harrell. “Pop” is also survived by his seven beloved grandchildren Hayden Hassan, Tyler Hassan, Alyssa Hassan, Kynlee Harrell, Kennedy Harrell, Jaxon Harrell, and Hudson Harrell. Joe was predeceased by his parents Joseph Sr. and Beatrice Harrell and sister, Sarah Fredieu.

Joe, known to many as an expert under the hood of a truck, master of the grill, and storyteller of the year, had an enormous heart and witty sense of humor. Under that tough exterior, Joe was nothing but a big teddy bear. His greatest accomplishments will always be his children and grandchildren.

Per Joe's wishes, there will be no services planned but the family would like to sincerely express their gratitude to everyone for the abundance of calls, messages, and prayers.
