Joseph "Boney" Powell

Joseph W “Boney” Powell, Sr., born April 18th 1951 to parents Ed and Maye Powell, went to be with the Lord on April 20th 2021. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lawana Powell, children and spouses Joey and Brandi Powell and Janna and Scott Nichols, and grandchildren Abby Powell, Emma Powell and Abram Nichols. He is also survived by siblings, Ronald “King” Powell, Charles “Ebert” Powell and wife Thunya, Bobbie Arseneaux, Elizabeth Lawley, Paul “Pee Wee” Powell and wife Brenda, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Ed and Maye Powell, and his siblings, Eddie Powell, Johnny “Buddy” Powell, and Debbie Powell Niechwiej. He retired from Weyhauser Paper mill after 30+ years, yet he never stopped working. He continued his career in sales and oil field services and spent his spare time restoring old cars. His spirit will live on through all his generous acts of kindness towards anyone in need. He loved Jesus and his family. Services for Boney Powell will be Saturday April 24th 2021 at Blanchard St Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. The family will receive guests from 10am to 1pm with services to start at 1pm. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery in Marthaville, La.
