A service to honor the life of Joan Collins-Moore will be held at 10 am Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Buster Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Friday the 29th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Joni, 55 years of age, entered into heaven on Saturday, April 23rd with her loving family by her side. She was born on November 10, 1966 to Huey Collins, Sr. and Billie Flynt Collins in Natchitoches, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents. Joni loved unconditionally, was a compassionate and kind hearted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her heart was always open to her family, especially her grandbabies and she was a true animal lover. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Her long battle with cancer always brought out the “fighter” that she was, and she didn’t lose her battle, she earned her peace in heaven. Those left to cherish her life are her husband, Dan Moore; brothers, Huey “Butch” Collins and wife Rebecca, and James Dawson and wife Sallye; her sons, Justin Delacerda and wife Caitlan, and Devin Delacerda; her grandbabies, Parker Delacerda, Daniel Delacerda and Jase Delacerda; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Phanor Vercher, Clint Sharbino, Kelly Gourdon, Thomas Tucker, Brandon Glenn and Chance Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Parker Delacerda, Daniel Delacerda, Jase Delacerda and Raymond Gourdon. A special thanks to Hospice of Natchitoches for the care and compassion shown during such a difficult time and to all the family and friends that visited and kept us in your prayers, may God bless each of you in a special way.
