John “Scotty” Wade, the son of US Air Force Lt Col (Ret) and Mrs Ernest Wade (both now deceased) passed away at the age of 72 in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Due to his father’s military service, Scotty Wade, a native of Shreveport, LA lived in many states including over 50 years in Warner Robins, Georgia. It was here he throughly enjoyed bowling with his friends from Happy Hour, participating in all the Special Olympic Games and traveling all over the state. Wherever he went, he always had a big smile and brought a big smile to others. He never met a stranger … just a friend he hadn’t met yet.

Survivors include his brother, Paul C. Wade of Louisiana and two nephews, Jason C. Wade, also of Louisiana, and Samuel T. Wade of Colorado.

Scotty passed away on Christmas Day 2025 but due to veteran (and family) interment delays, the gravesite service at Arlington National Cemetery is now scheduled for July 31, 2026 at 2pm.
