John Levy Lodrigue, Jr.

Funeral service for Mr. John Levy Lodrigue, Jr. will be held at 3 pm on Friday, October 18, 2019, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Rev. John Cunningham officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will follow at Emmanuel Cemetery near Chopin, LA.  The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Thursday, October 17th at Blanchard-St. Denis.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:30 pm on Thursday the 17th in the funeral home chapel. John, 72 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019, in Natchitoches.  He was born on May 4, 1947, to John Levy Lodrigue, Sr. and Lucille Chaisson Lodrigue in Cloutierville, LA.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Lavane Rachal and Rita Hernandez. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.  John retired with 35 years of service with the City of Natchitoches Police Department and later worked for the City Marshall’s office.  Outside of law enforcement, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially squirrel hunting, fishing and spending time at the deer camp sharing stories.  He loved to play baseball and softball and enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball teams.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons, Sean Lodrigue and wife Kelsey and Shane Lodrique and wife Crystal; his girlfriend, Connie Lewis; grandchildren, Josh Lodrique, Jacob Lodrigue and wife Natalie, Jayden Lodrigue, and Parker Martin; great-grandchildren, Levi and Landri Lodrigue; brother, Tony Lodrigue; sisters, Romona Roundtree and Gayle Hodges; former wife and mother of his children, Carolyn Lodrigue; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
