John Patrick Henry, known by all as Pat, passed away on September 13, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born on September 22, 1944, in Shreveport and his formative years was a resident of Powhatan, LA. At the time of his passing he was a resident of Gloster, LA
Pat's education began in Powhatan, culminating in his graduation from St. Mary's Catholic School in Natchitoches in 1962. Following his schooling, he embarked on a career as a heavy equipment operator, starting his professional journey with Gulf States Utility Company. He resided in Shreveport where he also worked for H & H Construction and Netherton Construction. Later in life, Pat took a courageous step and established his own business, Two Tone Backhoe.
A man of warmth and kindness, Pat was deeply devoted to his family. Each year, he brought joy to his nieces and nephews by dressing up and portraying Santa Claus. He loved to travel, creating cherished memories with his family and friends at beloved destinations such as the Grand Canyon, Talladega, Alaska, and Sturgis.
Pat leaves behind his brother, Ned Henry, Jr. and wife Ann; his sister, Kay Henry; close friends, Donnie and Debbie Edwards, and Jason Youngblood; and numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ned Henry, Sr. and Doris Burroughs Henry.
Visitation will be held on September 18, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial with Father Tommy Paul serving as celebrant will take place on September 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Powhatan, LA, followed by burial services at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include his nephews Jeffery Anderson, Jason Anderson, Wade Henry, Jason LeGrande, great-nephews Kane Anderson, Kade Anderson, Garrett Anderson, Yancy LeGrande, Damon LeGrande, Weston LeGrande, Logan Henry, and Noah Henry. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Edwards, Jason Youngblood, Rex Reiber, Jr., Nick Smith and Tyler Hickman.
Pat leaves a legacy of love and laughter, and he will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege to know him. His life was a celebration of family and friendship and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
