It is with great sadness that the family of Jimmy Allen Brown announce that Jim has gained his angel wings on Sunday, March 3, 2024, he was 63 years of age. Jimmy is most remembered for his incredible testimony; he was a miracle from a very young age. Jimmy loved to sing and play his guitar for Jesus. It was his heart’s desire to sing in the Heavenly Angels’ Choir. Jimmy has always been a member of a United Pentecostal Church, singing and worshipping Jesus was his favorite pastime. Jimmy had many talents including working with his hands on a lathe and creating wood crafts. Though Jimmy has been a long time resident of Lufkin, Texas, he did also work for many years at NARC, Inc. here in Natchitoches.
Born on August 9, 1960 to James Franklin Brown, Sr. and Shirley Ann Carpenter Brown, Jim was the eldest of four children including Kandi Ann, Tony Wade, and Melodi Raye. He later gained three half-siblings, Annah Brown, James Brown, Jr., and Laynie Brown.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley, and his brother, Tony, as well as his maternal grandparents, Ray Lonnie Carpenter and Reva Sybil Johnson Carpenter, and his paternal grandparents, Alan Washington Brown and Bertie Desadier Brown.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 8, 2024 at The Fountain of Life Pentecostal Church in Natchitoches, LA with Bro. Kevin Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 9 am until service time at The Fountain of Life Pentecostal Church.
