Jeremy Nicholas Trichel, known by many as Nick, passed away on April 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by kindness and an unwavering love for his family. Born on August 20, 1979, Jeremy was a man whose heart was as vast as the joys he found in everyday life.
Nick possessed a photographic memory, especially when it came to sports statistics, movie lines, and song lyrics—a talent that fascinated those around him. His passion for all things loud was well known; from the roaring pipes of trucks to the electrifying beats of rock music, he embraced the sounds that energized his spirit. One of his greatest enthusiasms was LSU Football, a love that reflected his spirited and devoted nature.
Above all, Nick’s greatest treasure on earth was his children. He is survived by his cherished children: Colby Trichel and his fiancée Samantha Jett, Kennedie Cassidy, and Clara Isabelle Trichel, whom he lovingly called Toot. His devotion to them was evident in every aspect of his life. His children were his greatest treasure on earth but because he was rooted in his relationship with his Lord and Savior we know he has earned his treasure in heaven.
Nick is also survived by his devoted parents, Dewayne and Clare Trichel, and his grandparents Dewey and Mary Trichel, who surely hold a special place in his memory. His loving siblings, Dana Johnson and her husband Justin, and Daniel Trichel and his wife Sarah Broadway Trichel, stand alongside him in both family and memory. The warmth of his extended family is reflected in his aunts and uncles — Anthony Trichel, Kevin Trichel and his wife Tammy Jo, Vince Trichel and his wife Donna, Tonya Wynn and her husband John, Lu Anne Prudhomme Terry, Angela Prudhomme Taylor and Lee Prudhomme Vickers. His nieces and nephews, of whom he was so proud, Andrew and Archer Johnson and Alden and Brynlee Trichel, as well as numerous cousins and countless friends, all carry forward the impact of his generous and heartfelt presence.
Nick was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Maxine Prudhomme and his uncles Joey Prudhomme and Johnny Prudhomme whose memories he held dear.
A visitation to honor Nick's life will be held on Thursday April 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, located at 848 Keyser Avenue in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The funeral service will follow on April 17, 2026, starting at 11:00 a.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis. Burial will follow at Trichel Cemetery also known as Clear Lake Cemetery near Goldonna, Louisiana. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Evan Dunn, Brady Gildon, Chris Berry, Jackie Colston, Cody Fredieu, and John Wynn. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Goff, Garrick Vercher, and Mikie Williams.
Jeremy Nicholas Trichel was a man who gave freely of himself, a friend to many, and above all a father whose love was immense. His passing is deeply mourned, yet the memories of his kindness, spirited toughness, and love remain indelible in the hearts of those who knew him.
