Janis Speir

Funeral service for Mrs. Janis Speir will be held at 2 pm Sunday, January 30, 2022 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Trey Etheridge presiding. Burial will follow at Strange Cemetery near Readhimer, LA. The family will receive friends from 11 am until service time on the 30th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Janis passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 after a lengthy illness. She was born on September 24, 1941 to Watson Speaks and Foye Gibbs Speaks. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jackie Speir. She is survived by her daughter, Heather Creamer and husband Eric and a son, Brent Speir and wife Samanda; grandchildren, Kadence Creamer, Jaycie Creamer, Brooke Wingate and husband Nekoma, Raven Speir and fiancé Corey Rachal, Blake Speir and Sean Speir; two great-granddaughters, Kenleigh Davis and Brooke Rachal; as well as numerous extended family and friends. If there were words to describe Nana/ Momma/Jan, they would’ve been nothing less of precious, happy, and caring. Everywhere she walked she carried a flamboyance. Jan always bore Rosey cheeks and a sweet voice alongside her happy smile. She spent her well lived days devoted to her husband, Jack, and her children. Each day upon her husband’s arrival, she greeted him with a kiss. There was never a pie not on the counter, nor food cooked for her family. She was known for her devotion to Jackie, they carried a love that is an example for us all. Traveling around the states and making memories with Norma and Johnny Ray. And when she was home, spending time with her grandkids. She rocked them all millions of miles. There was a special place in her heart for those babies. We know she is entering heaven in leaps and bounds to reunite with jackie where they will be able to finish out eternity together. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Scott Speir, Chad Speir, Dale Speir, Ricky Bergereon, Lannon Collum, and Trey Rachal. Honorary pallbearers will be Teddy Speir, Ricky Speir and Johnny Ray Smith.
