Janice Anne (Jan) Broderick passed away peacefully on October 5, 2020 after a short illness. She was born in New Orleans, LA on December 30, 1933 to Horace Miller Wadsworth and Anne Inge Wadsworth. She attended McMain High School in New Orleans, LA and married Daniel T. (Dan) Broderick on December 22, 1951. She traveled the world with Dan and their children throughout Dan’s 20 year career in the United States Air Force. Their travels took them to Fort Worth, TX; Biloxi, MS; Taipei, Taiwan; Aurora, Colorado; and Naha, Okinawa before retiring at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, LA. They then continued their journey together by relocating to Natchitoches, LA where Dan began a second 20 year career with the Louisiana Department of Labor. Janice was a life-long United Methodist and worked in the church offices at First United Methodist Church in Bossier City, LA and at First United Methodist Church in Natchitoches, LA. She was an active member of United Methodist Women for many years and worked at The Travel Place in Natchitoches before retiring. After their retirement, Janice and Dan continued to enjoy traveling in their motorhome as they reconnected with lifelong friends enjoying the beaches along the Gulf of Mexico and various vacation sites throughout Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi. Janice was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and thrive. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Daniel T. Broderick, of Natchitoches, LA: her brother James Inge Wadsworth of Metairie, LA and her four children: Daniel James Broderick of Hall Summit, LA; Lindy Broderick of Shreveport, LA; Karen Blocker and husband Howard of Spring, TX and Dorothy Klein and husband Joe of Tomball, TX. She is survived by five grandchildren: Vicki Risinger and husband Aaron of Spring, TX; Allison Murray and husband Mickey of Edinburgh, Scotland; Travis Blocker of Spring, TX; Katie Klein of Tomball, TX and Becky Klein, Tomball, TX. She loved and delighted in her great-grandchildren: Caleb, Hayden and Asher Risinger and Charlotte Murray. Because of continuing COVID-19 restrictions, the family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
