Janice F. Andrus, age 85, passed away May 20, 2022. She was born March 4, 1937 in Shreveport, LA to Price and Inez Melder. She was retired from First Baptist Church in Natchitoches where she worked for many years as the financial secretary. She was married to Bobbie Andrus for 9 years. Prior to their marriage to Jack Farmer (deceased) for 54 years. She had 1 brother, James Melder, of Shreveport, LA (deceased) She is survived by 4 children: Johnny Farmer and wife Shara of College Station, TX; Jimmy Farmer of Natchitoches, LA; Juanice Carnahan and her husband Bush of Minden, LA; and Julie Bates of Normal, IL. 2 Stepchildren: Tammy Eaves and her husband Greg of Glenmora, LA and Tony Andrus of Glenmora, LA 9 Grandchildren: Jonathan Farmer, Matthew Farmer, Rachel Wheeler (Their mother, Ruth Farmer), Jonathon “Trey” Rink, Kennedy DeMoss, Meagan Farmer, Joanna Clark, Robert Corley, Lauren Fadely, Jodie Bates, and Martel Bates. 5 Step Grandchildren: Randall Eaves, Kevin Eaves, Jena Andrus, Jerad Andrus, and Audrey Guillory and 14 Great Grandchildren. Her sister, Virginia Butler and her husband Jerome of Richardson, TX., 1 sister-in-law Edwina Melder of Shreveport, LA, and 2 step sisters, Billie Gassiott of Glenmora, LA and Barbara Stagg of Glenmora LA and her nephews Greg Melder and Christopher Butler and his wife Jennifer. A service to honor her life will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on Saturday the 28th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Farmer, Matthew Farmer, Brad Wheeler, Jonathon “Trey” Rink, Martel Bates and Dylan Fadely.
