James Hubert Golemon was born on January 22, 1940 to Johnnie T. and Barbara Reed Golemon in Caspiana, LA and passed away on September 1, 2022 at his residence in Provencal, LA with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judith Roberts Golemon; daughters, Sunny Golemon Broadway and husband Jeff of Provencal, LA, Sharon Golemon Hanks and husband Mike of Riddle, OR; grandsons, Jason Golemon of Fairfax VA, Derek Mitcham, Sr. and wife T.J. of Natchitoches, LA, Justin Broadway, of Provencal, LA, Jimmy Tipps of Summerville, SC, Ethan Hanks and wife Tiffany of Roseburg, OR, SSGT Rilan Hanks of Tucson, AR, granddaughters, Summer Mitcham Wilson and husband Quintin of Many, LA, Angelica Hanks of Riddle, OR, Samantha Broadway Huber and husband Dan of Provencal, LA, Bonnie Broadway and husband Vincent Cuccia of Metairie, LA and Nikki Pearson and husband Nick of Charleston, SC; great-grandsons, Derek Mitcham, Jr. of Livingston, LA, Brock Mitcham of Natchitoches, LA, Sean Mitcham of Many, LA, Zander Tipps of Summerville, SC and Jude and Jensen Huber of Provencal, LA ; great-granddaughters, Chauntal Mitcham of Many, LA, Mariska Wilson of Many, LA, and Kinsley Broadway all of Provencal, LA, Sophia and Addison Mitcham of Natchitoches, LA, Alexa Hanks and Kashlyn Wylie of Riddle, OR; sister-in-law, Carol Golemon of Nashville, TN; brother-in-law, Robert Porter of Natchez, LA and Jan Harris of Pensacola, FL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Sandy Golemon; brother, Guy Golemon; sister, Glenda Golemon Harris; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Roberts Porter. James was talented in many areas, from aspiring to be an actor in Hollywood, to a gifted song writer in Nashville and being a talented artist, drawing many images for his family and friends to appreciate. He retired as a shipping and receiving supervisor from Precision Heat Treating Corp. in Nashville and also retired from Wal-Mart after many years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the guitar, watching wrestling and was a die-hard LSU football fan. A service to honor his life will be held at 11 am on Monday, September 5, 2022, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Buster Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Roberts Cemetery near Provencal, LA. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on September 5th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jason Golemon, Derek Mitcham, Sr., Jimmy Tipps, Rilan Hanks, Brock Mitcham, Sean Mitcham, Quintin Wilson, and Justin Broadway.
