Jack passed away on March 31, 2024. Jack was born in McComb, Mississippi and raised here in Natchitoches.   Jack leaves us way too early at the young age of 50 years.

Jack’s trade was doing trim work on new construction. He was very proud of every job he touched. He would also brag about what a great oil field hand he was “in his younger days”.

But, Jack was a first and foremost, a family man.  He loved his wife and his children beyond measure. And he loved his sisters.   Jack was raised by a mother who spoiled him to no end and taught him to walk with God and he never forgot that.  With that being said, he also loved to cook on the back porch, drink a little beer and laugh!  He had a laugh that would echo through a room. He had a hug that enveloped you and you absolutely knew you were loved.  He was famous for the long kiss to you on top of the head and linger no matter how much you didn’t like it.

He was loved by many and will be missed terribly by all of us.

Jack leaves behind to cherish the memory of his life, his wife, Rosemarie Thompson Davis,  his children, Zachary Davis, Dominique Davis, his step-son, Skylar Thompson and his wife Lauren Thomspon,  and the apple of his eye and his “mini-me”, Logan Delane Lott, his sisters, Janiece Adkins and husband Kenny of Natchitoches, Toni Pokoney and her husband Rick Pokoney of Brandon, Mississippi, Sarah "Jan" O’Bannon and her husband, Bruce O’Bannon of Provencal, Carolyn Wells, and her husband, Jeremy Wells of Natchitoches; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, David Lee Ates and Ruth O’Dell Ates; his father, Jack Davis, Jr., his mother, Ruth Elaine Ates, his brother Ricky Lane Carpenter, his sister, Edith Marie Roop.
