Irene Beaudoin Rachal

Irene B. Rachal, 97, of Derry, LA passed away on May 4, 2019. She was born in Cloutierville, LA on March 9, 1922, to Alcide and Josephine (Waites) Beaudoin.  Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Felix Rachal, Sr. and son Felix Rachal, Jr. (Julie). She was also preceded in death by immediate brothers, Kelly Beaudoin (Beulah), Rayno Beaudoin (Eula) and sisters, Caroline “Carrie” Metoyer (Charles), Cora Kirkland (Charlie) and Susan “Susie” Couty (Lawrence) and many half brothers and sisters. Irene was a long time parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, a member of the altar society and attended mass regularly.  She had a love for quilting, gardening, cooking, and baking.  Some of her most favorite memories were times spent in the kitchen and quilting with family and friends. Irene is survived by her son Edison James Rachal (Doris) of Natchez, LA; daughter, Margaret Cloutier (Charles) of Pingree Grove, IL; son Alencon “Donnie” Rachal (Mary) of Kilgore, TX; brothers, James Beaudoin, and Victor Beaudoin Sr. (Hattie); and sister, Orena Genevieve Christophe(late, Herman).  She was a grandmother to James Rachal, Jr., Donna Cloutier, the late Michael Rachal, Denise Rachal, Tammy Cloutier, Amy Lowrng and Alex Rachal, Jr. (Shannon), a great-grandmother to sixteen; great-great-grandmother to ten, an abundance of nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Services for Irene B. Rachal will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, visitation 10 AM, mass 11 AM, and burial immediately following.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in memory of Irene B. Rachal to any one of the following: St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Cloutierville, LA, Hospice of Natchitoches, Courtyard of Natchitoches, and LA Extended Care of Natchitoches.
