Herbert Dewey Dalme

August 2, 1954 — July 5, 2022

Herbert Dewey Dalme of Natchitoches, LA went home to the Lord surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at the age of 67. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, 848 Keyser Ave, Natchitoches LA Deacon Robichaux officiating. Family will welcome visitors beginning at 12:00 pm. Recitation of the Rosary and Memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m., and additional visitation time held after the service until 4:00 p.m. He was born August 2, 1954, to R.B. and Lela Mae Murray Dalme in Natchitoches, LA. Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Mary Antilley, sisters in law Rosemary Jacob and Alma Fernandez. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 46 years, Martha Antilley Dalme and his daughters Misty Dalme (Brad Calvert) of Natchitoches, Louisiana; Leah Dalme (Bo Bolt) of Pineville, Louisiana; grandchildren Madelyn Spillman, Yancy Spillman Jr, Cole Spillman, Bayli Stoker, Shanna Graves, Trace-Anne Graves and Verian Bolt. He also leaves behind his loving siblings Richard Dalme Jr. (Beverly) of Readhimer, LA., Gilda Parker (Jessie) of Natchitoches, LA., Archie Dalme (Peggy) of Trichel, LA and Anita Dove (Ricky) of Campti, LA, sister-in-law Kathy LaCour (Richard) of Natchitoches, La, brothers-in-law, Jay Jacob of Plano, TX and John Fernandez, Jr. of Campti, LA, God-child Sabrina Hilton of Natchitoches; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Herbert was a hard-working honest man of many talents. He was raised and worked on I-Hope Ranch in Lake End, LA. After graduating from Coushatta High School in 1972, he went on to provide for his family by working in the construction business and later mill work retiring at the age of 60 in 2015. Herbert enjoyed rabbit and deer hunting with friends and family. Herbert was a devoted son, husband, brother, Daddy and Papa. He met the love of his life at the young age of 17. Together they built a beautiful home and family. He was the fourth of five children and was everybody's "baby boy". He was a proud father who taught his girls many life lessons. His pride and joy were his 7 grandchildren and he enjoyed watching them participate in their various sports and activities. Herbert left an impression on anyone that met him or knew him. His legacy lives on in his family and friends that he leaves behind. The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Ingram and staff, Dr. Warren Botnick and staff, Dr. Scott Boniol and staff, MD Anderson physicians and staff, Hospice of Natchitoches and staff, Father Dutch and Deacon Robichaux of St. Joseph Church, Trichel.
