Gloria Mae Neal

May 10, 1932 — September 10, 2025

Natchitoches,LA

It is with great sorrow and yet a peace of God to announce that our mother, Gloria Mae Morgan Neal has gone to be with her Lord and Savior.

Her struggle is over, and her wish has finally been granted. Gloria was born May 10, 1932, and left this world September 10, 2025 at the age of 93 years old. She was born in Natalbany, Louisiana and spent most of her life in Wheeling, Louisiana and then retiring to Natchitoches. She passed away peacefully at the Natchitoches Community Care Center where she was well cared for and resided for her last final years. Our appreciation and thanks go to all the people who loved and cared for her as well as the ladies who tended to her in her final days from the Hospice of Natchitoches.

Gloria loved gardening in her yard, and it showed, having won the Natchitoches yard of the month more than once. She was a Pink Lady at the Natchitoches Parish Hospital for 25+ years. From serving refreshments to working the gift shop she also found time to make all the Christmas stockings for every baby born in December. She was an avid reader and would read anything from westerns, romance and even hunting magazines. As an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches she was involved in The Mudders, Young at Heart, a member of Jessie Bernard’s Sunday School Class and the Fall Festival activities. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, O.C. and Gladys Louise Morgan of Natalbany, Louisiana, her loving husband Oliver Harrison Neal of 52 years, two older brothers and a younger sister and one great grandson. She is survived by four children. Rebecca Neal Guidry (Mike Guidry), Grady Harrison Neal (JoEllen Neal), Regina Neal Johnson (John Johnson), Renee’ Neal Crews (Steven Crews), 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and 2 younger siblings-a sister and a brother.

Services will be held at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, Louisiana, Sunday, September 14, 2025. Visitation will be from 12pm-2 pm and the memorial service will follow immediately at 2 pm. It will be officiated by Reverend Thomas Rush with interment service at Mount Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Wheeling, Louisiana.

Pallbearers will be John Neal, Porter Neal, Matthew Johnson, Jared Prymek, Chris Brian and Gene McDavid.
