Gerald Wayne Nelson

Jerry Nelson, 71, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Dorothy Welch Nelson; his brother, Eric Nelson; and his sister, Sue Nelson Durr. Jerry leaves behind his siblings, Frank Nelson of Lake Charles, LA, Jean Nelson Pitts of Shreveport, LA, and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a 1971 graduate of Marthaville High School, where he played basketball, and a 1975 graduate of Northwestern State College. He worked in accounting and finance in the banking industry as well as working with an Arabian horse farm before moving back to Robeline to care for his parents. 

A memorial service for Gerald Wayne Nelson will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 1 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 12 noon until 1 pm.
