Gerald Lee Nelson

Gerald Lee Nelson, 58, passed away on May 31, 2023 after a brief illness.  Gerald was born to the late Earl Raymond Nelson and Gracie Reynolds Nelson on June 17, 1964. 

Gerald was a carpenter and roofer.  Gerald worked for Con-Agra Poultry Company as a vaccinator and a debeaker. 

Gerald is survived by his ex-wife and mother of their son, Shirley Blue Nelson Poche of Robeline, LA; son, Derek Ray Nelson of Bethany, LA; step-daughter, Kayla Lee Blue of Robeline, LA; step grandchildren, Devontai Dewayne Johnson and Preslee Jayde Blue both of Robeline, LA; sisters, Sandra Kim Nelson Curtis (Billy) and Carol Nelson of Natchez, LA; brothers, Rayford Buddy Nelson (Sandy) of Robeline, LA and Billy Ray Nelson (April) of Castor, LA; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Raymond and Gracie Nelson; sister, Janet Nelson Simmons; brother-in-law, Ricky Simmons, Sr.; and a niece Tammy Lynn Simmons Brian.

The family will have a private service at a later date.
