Georgia Benedict

Funeral services for Georgia Benedict will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation at the funeral home, Saturday morning, from 10 am until service time at 2 pm.

Georgia Lou Chaplin Benedict passed away after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 13, 1943, in Natchitoches, where she was also raised. She later moved to Irving, Texas, where she met her late husband and started her family. For the remainder of her life, she resided in Florida with her son.

A true child of God who has now gone to her heavenly home, she leaves behind many who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, George S. and Willie Mae Chaplin, and her daughter, Karen Michelle Benedict.

She is survived by her son, Mark Allen Benedict; her sister, Harriet Guyott of Flora; her granddaughter, Alexia Danielle Benedict; her great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Izzabella Benedict; and her great-grandson, Xavier Alexander Morales of Miami, Florida. She is also survived by four nephews: Steve Rachal (Karen), Russell Rachal (LaDonna), Craig Rachal (Marla), and Patrick Rachal (Tisha), all of Flora, LA.
