Genita, 79 years of age and a resident of Shreveport, passed away on April 20, 2023.  She was born on June 29, 1943 to Herbert and Adelene Solice Moore in Natchitoches, LA.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Leone.

Genita was a devout Catholic lady and was faithful daily in praying the Rosary.  She was a member of the St. Mary of the Pines Rosary Group for many years.  Genita always admired the simple things in life and was the kindest and caring person anyone could meet.  She was an excellent cook and used her gift to provide meals for those less fortunate.  It truly was her ministry.  She touched so many lives over the course of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Wynn (Doug); sister, Wanda Anderson; her brother, Wayne Moore (Virginia); granddaughter, Heather Wynn; great grandson, Doug Winn, Jr. (Grace) and their son, Joseph; niece, Lisa Cooper (Brent) and their daughter, Kambrie; a very special niece, Josephine Summers; and special friends, Margie LaCour and Collis Ezell.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Sammy Leone, Kirk Leone, Brent Cooper, Jack Fair, Bill Fair, and Anthony Mondello.  Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Mondello and Christopher Leone.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Guest House, especially Mrs. Rose, and the King’s Temple Pentecostal Church for the care and compassion shown to Genita during a difficult time.
