Gary W. Nolley, 61, passed away April 27, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. Gary was born
September 28, 1961 to the late Joseph Benjamin Nolley and Helen Blue Nolley. He was a 1979 graduate
of Natchitoches Central High School. Gary retired from Northwestern State University as Director of
Grounds. After retirement, he worked for Rabalais Small Engines for seven years.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Miranda Walker Nolley, sons Gary Wynce Nolley and Coy Wayne
Nolley of Lafayette LA; brother Kenneth Nolley of Longview, Texas; in-laws Kenneth “Buzzy” Walker of
Robeline, La; Becky Walker Bozeman and husband Truly of Pleasant Hill, La; Mary Margaret Nolley of
Natchitoches and Ted Marlowe of Houston, Tx. As well as a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother James Benjamin “Benny” Nolley, Sr.; sister Linda Sue
Marlowe; nephews James Benjamin (Benjy) Nolley, Jr. and Aaron Todd Nolley; and in-laws Kenneth and
Marie Walker of Robeline.
The family will receive friends at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home Monday, May 1, 2023 5:00 p.m. to
9:00 p.m. A private graveside service to follow at a later date. Those honored to serve as pallbearers
will be Kenneth “Buzzy” Walker, Truly H. Bozeman, III, Truly H. Bozeman, IV, Ned Henry, Tyler Walker,
and Jeffery Marlowe.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Akabane and the staff at LSU Bone Marrow
Transplant Unit as well as Dr. Shpall and the Transplant Team at M.D. Anderson. We would also like to
extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Halo House of Houston for making Gary’s stay as
comfortable as possible.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Gary’s name to Halo House Foundation of
Monday, May 1, 2023
