Garry Augustus Cole of Natchitoches, LA passed away on March 25, 2021. Garry was born on October 14, 1942 to Marvie Gay Cole and Augustus Clay Cole in Monterey Park, CA. Garry graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport in 1960 and joined the U.S. Army where he served in Germany. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Shreveport and attended Louisiana State University. Garry worked in sales and was self employed until his retirement. He was a gifted musician and vocalist and played in several bands throughout his life. Garry was preceded in death by his father, Augustus Clay Cole; his mother, Marvie Gay Cole Mitchell; step father, Robert Mitchell; son, Garry Clay Cole; brother, Howard E. Cole; sisters-in-law, Marion Cole and Judy LaCaze; brother-in-law, Melvin Niemeyer; and son-in-law, Brett Burgueno. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Beverly LaCaze Cole; daughter, Gina C. Cole; sister, Cindy Cole Brogdon and husband Kelley; daughter-in-law, Kay Cole; sister-in-law, Melba Niemeyer; brother-in-law, Louis LaCaze; grandson, Damian Barrios and wife Kacee; granddaughters, Melissa Hackley and husband Mike, Jessika Cole, Shelby Cole; and great grandchildren, Marlee Barrios, Madison Barrios, Royer Trahan, Riley Trahan, Carter James Soleau, Addyson Hackley and Brant Hackley. A service to honor his life will be held at 1 pm Saturday, April 3, 2021 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis with Bro. Rickie Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 pm until service time on April 3rd at Blanchard-St. Denis. The family asks that guests continue to follow Covid-19 guidelines by wearing a mask to the service and practicing social distancing.
