Frances Nell Gallien DeLacerda was born February 21,1946 and passed July 17, 2025. Frances was raised in Cloutiervillle, LA. She attended Clouterville Elementary School, graduated from Cloutierville High, and went on to graduate from Northwestern State University as a registered nurse.
Her nursing career began in the E.R. at Natchitoches Parish Hospital, spent some time doing home health, and then proceeded to finish out her career and retire as the manager of Fercenies Dialysis. Throughout her years, she made it clear that she loved her job, tending to patients and making many lifelong friends.
Frances used her retired years being a dedicated great-grandmother, showing up and caring for her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her eyes. She also loved playing Dominoes and Pokeno with her cousin, Yvonne Tobin, and the ladies. She also loved spending time with her friends and family at the River. Her final moments were spent doing what she loved, riding the golf cart, spending time with family and looking for alligators in Cane River.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Coleman and Mattie Mae Gallien.
She is survived by her sister Gayle Johnston, daughter Karen Prothro and husband Terry, son Michael DeLacerda and wife Jenny, daughter Amy Walker, grandchildren Candace Welborn and husband Kevin, Ashley Prothro, Blake DeLacerda, William Prothro and wife Mary Grace, Harleigh Seneca and husband Nick, great-grandchildren, Tanaleigh Smith, Jayden Norris, Lillyanna DeLacerda, Paislyn Ramsey, Taryn Prothro, Jackson Welborn, Kinsley Foy, Henry Welborn, Camryn Prothro, Sophie Welborn, Michael DeLacerda, Makayala DeLacerda, and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Serving as pallbearers are Blake DeLacerda, William Prothro, Jonathan Miller, Adam Miller, Caleb Johnston, and Chase Johnston. Honorary pallbearers are Curtis LaCour, Travis Johnston, and Pat Miller.
Visitation will be held at Blanchard's St. Denis Funeral home in Natchitoches on Monday July 21, 2025 from 5pm. to 9pm.
Services will be led by Brother Greg Dunn on Tuesday July 22, 2025 at 10:00 am. Followed by graveside services at Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery.
Please join the family at the Marco hall for refreshments and fellowships after graveside.
