Eric James Edwards

Eric James Edwards, age 36, of Natchitoches, passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2022 at his home in Natchitoches. He was born on March 19, 1985 at Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana to Deborah Ann Edwards and Johnny Edwards, Jr. of Natchitoches. Eric was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic at an early age, but that didn’t stop him from being the happiest little boy growing up. He had the biggest heart. He would help anyone he could, even if it meant he would go without. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them all. He was an active member of the Morman church and he loved his church family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Ann Edwards (Woodard), grandmother, Gloria Woodard, and grandpa Johnny Edwards, Sr. He is survived by his father, Johnny Edwards, Jr.; one sister, Ashley Nichole Edwards and her two daughters Kristalyn Ann Edwards and Desiree’ Nichole Edwards; one brother, Jason Heath Edwards and his two daughters Lakaundra Edwards and Jajaunda Culbert; an uncle, James Woodard and his wife Brenda Woodard and their three children, Katelyn Woodard, Kelsey Woodard, and Justin Woodard; an uncle Robert Edwards and his daughter Kristen Edwards; one aunt, Frances Woodard Bass and her husband, Roy Bass, along with their five children, Nicholas Bass, Joseph Bass, Sean Bass, Cory Bass, Sarah Bass; and several cousins. A viewing service of remembrance will be held from 10 am until 12 noon on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Those who wish to remember Eric are welcome.
