Emily May Fredericks Wofford passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024. She was born in Natchitoches, LA in 1927 to Marjorie May and Albert Asa Fredericks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bushrod Wofford, whom she married in 1950.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Wofford, Emily Neelley (Baron), and Marcie duQuesnay (Emeric); grandchildren, Baron Neelley (Allison) and Emily Walhood (Preston); and great grandchildren, Emma Neelley, Stella Neelley, May Walhood, and Wofford Walhood.
Emily was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Louisiana State University and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She served on the board of the Caroline Dorman Foundation and the American Cemetery. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Friends are invited to attend a visitation at noon followed by a service at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 411 Second St., Natchitoches, LA on Saturday, August 17th. A brief graveside service will follow at the American Cemetery.
