Elmer Paul Carter

Natchitoches Parish Constable Bobby Carter was born October 12, 1951 and passed away at his home in Cloutierville on June 1, 2024. Bobby died peacefully with his family by his side.

Bobby was a Natchitoches Parish School Bus Driver for nearly 50 years, and a propane truck delivery driver for Jim’s South Propane Gas for many years, proudly serving the citizens of south Natchitoches Parish. He was a proud Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam.

There was always breakfast cooking at Bobby’s house. Bobby loved feeding everyone & anyone, friends, family, neighbors & animals- birds, fish & squirrels. Bobby never knew a stranger. He was always genuine & welcoming. He had such a huge heart, a kind spirit & a joyous soul, often singing while he worked.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Herman & Maybel Rachal Carter of Cloutierville, & his sister, Patricia Carter Rachal. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rhonda Rachal Carter, his devoted sons Ernest Carter (Dewana) & Dale Carter (Paige), brothers Larry Carter (Evelyn), Sherman Carter, Michael Carter (Terri) & Dennis Carter (Karla), grandsons Blake McNeely (Molly), Austin McNeely (Meaghan), Trever Carter (Kenzie), Peyton Carter (Brandi), Dylan Sherman, Reed Sherman (Peyton), & Christian Carter (Stevie), numerous great-grandchildren, the extended Rachal & Carter family & many close friends that will miss him sorely.

Those honored to be pallbearers will be John Thompson, Gary Miller, Curtis Brosset, Roland Lavespere, Trever Carter, Peyton Carter, Dylan Sherman & Reed Sherman. Honorary pallbearers will be Christian Carter, Blake McNeely, Austin McNeely, & Michael Brosset.

The viewing will be Tuesday evening from 5-9 pm & service Wednesday morning 10 am at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. He will be buried at the Rachal family cemetery in Marco.
