Elizabeth “Ann” Hames Landon, 88, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on August 8, 2026, after a brief illness. Elizabeth Ann Hames was born April 20, 1938, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Harold and Eulalie (Powell) Hames. Ann studied at Louisiana State University, obtaining a bachelor’s and master’s degree in library science. In 1959, Ann married Leroy Elvis Landon. Together, they raised two sons: Byron Todd Landon and Warren Scott Landon. Ann served many years as a public librarian in Baton Rouge, Monroe, and Natchitoches, Louisiana. After retiring in 2002, Ann and Leroy traveled extensively throughout the United States. Ann and Leroy lived in Natchitoches for 43 years. After Leroy passed away in 2019, Ann relocated to Fort Worth, Texas to be closer to family. Ann loved reading, walking for exercise, baking treats for others, sewing, and creating beautiful needlepoint tapestries. She enjoyed going to live theatre productions and attending Ridglea Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth. 

Ann is survived by her son, Scott Landon and his wife Karen, of Fort Worth; her sister, Carol Sue Hames, of Baton Rouge; several step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Leroy Landon; her son, Byron Todd Landon, and her sister, Barbara Hames Frith. The family would like to thank the staff at Westmore Senior Living and Valor Hospice for the excellent care they provided Ann during the past year. 

A service to honor the life of Ann will be at 1:30 pm on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until service time on the 15th at Blanchard-St. Denis.
