Edward O. Jones

Edward O. Jones, son of James and Masako Jones (Miki), went to be with the Lord on December 15 at his home in Ringgold, GA.

Edward (Ed) was born on July 15, 1958 in Fort Eustis, VA. Raised in a military family, he experienced life across cultures early on, including a three-year stint living in Tehran, Iran. He went on to graduate from Hendrix College and later completed his master's studies at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. During his time there, Ed met his wife Pam on a blind dinner date, and the chemistry was immediate. One year later, they were married and began a life together that lasted for over 40 years. Ed went on to build a long and respected career in human resources, working with several landmark companies, including Lodge Cast Iron and Chattanooga Bakery Inc, home of the Moon Pie. He and Pam made their home in Chattanooga, TN, where they welcomed their daughter, Megan, in April 1998. This is where they remained for 27 years.

Ed was a defender, a comforter, and a steady presence to all who knew him. His infinite wisdom and unyielding kindness was known and cherished by many, and his legacy will live on in the lives he touched. At the center of everything he did was his family. It was his daily goal to ensure Pam and Megan knew nothing but love, safety, and quiet strength, and he succeeded until the very end. Ed leaves behind a hole that cannot be filled, but his family will continue to honor his memory in all they do and love him fiercely until their Heavenly reunion.

Ed is survived by his college sweetheart and wife of 42 years, Pamela Wester Jones, his only daughter, Megan Jones Fujimoto, her husband, Stephen Fujimoto, his brother, Ron Jones, his mother, Masako Jones, and a large and beloved extended family. Visitation will be held at Blanchard St. Denis on Saturday, December 27 from 2:00 - 4:00 with a short memorial service following from 4:00 - 4:30. Fellowship for family and friends will be held at the Provencal UPC Family Life Center at 5:00. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to St. Jude Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
