Dr. David James, DVM was born on December 27th, 1962 in Natchitoches, LA and passed away on February 3rd at the age of 59. David was a 1988 graduate of LSU Veterinary School and was the owner of James Veterinarian Clinic in Natchitoches for 34 years. He was active in the community and is a past president of the Jaycee’s Club of Natchitoches. His life-long calling was caring for animals and he donated countless hours to the Natchitoches Humane Society and Hope for Paws in Natchitoches. He enjoyed the outdoors and because of his passion for that, he became involved in Hunters for the Hungry – an organization designed to feed the less fortunate with game meat donated by hunters. He is survived by sons William Chase James (wife Angela) and Daniel David James; siblings MacCauley Mercer “Macky” James Jr. (wife Debbie), Doris Elise James, and Nancy Gail James; nieces Casie Jo James and Caitlin Elizabeth James. He was preceded in death by his parents, MacCauley Mercer “Mack” James Sr. and Doris “Elise” James; sibling William Henry James; nephew MacCauley James III. A memorial visitation will be held at Blanchard-St. Denis on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 5 pm until 8 pm with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 pm. A private family service will follow on Saturday with concluding services at Catholic Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA.
