Dorothy Lee Scallion

Funeral services for Dorothy Lee Scallion will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Creston Baptist Church at 2:00 pm.  Burial will follow at Coulee Bethel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends for a visitation at Creston Baptist Church on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 5 pm until 9 pm and again on Sunday from 1 pm until service time.

Dorothy Lee Scallion was born on December 15, 1932 in Chopin, LA to Joseph Cliff Carnahan and Lacy White Carnahan.  She is survived by her daughter Lora Russell Edgin and her husband Jack, and children, Ben Edgin and Leslie Haight and her husband Ben; daughter Sharon Russell Thornton and her husband Lynn, and children, Jake Russell, Mason Delacerda, and grandchildren, Brannan, Jace, Riley, Kenley, Dawson, and Corbin; her son, Darby and his wife, Monica Banker, and their children, Brooke and Porsha; her daughter, Pam Causey Standforth and her husband Jeff, children, Elray Woods, Jr., Alicia Woods Young, Jason and Dawn Woods, and grandchildren, Zack, Logan, Katelyn, Carson, Jada, Asher, Avery, Brayden, Zaylee, Addison, and Emery; her son, James Timothy Causey and his wife, Debra Lynn Causey, children, Jamie Lynn, James Darben, Jeremy Lee, Quinton J. Cody, Sativa, and Jason, and grandchilren, Jacob Johnson, Joshua Liam, Amber Lynn, Elisha Arron, Nathaniel Wayne, Lexi, Jetty Lynn, Jayce, Colton Wyatt, Jackson, Angeleeka, Crystal; great-grandchildren, twins Gabrial and Noah, Kyler, Adam Mathews Fisher, Azalea Harmony, Maliah Jade, Atais Bernard Dudley (sweet tater); and son, Charles Ben (Lil’Bud) Causey, Jr. and his wife Karen Hughes Causey, their children, Ginger Causey and husband David, Megan Causey, Chelsea Causey Cox and husband K.C., Kryston Causey Gibson, Lacey Causey, and grandchildren, Macy and Ethan Hanrahan, Keith, Mia Grace, Madelyn, Kaden Cox, Aurora Ashmead, Krystoher, Ryan, and Bethany; 5 step-children, Danny Scallion, Perry Scallion, Jill Scallion Raynes, Peggy Scallion Dugan, and Cindy Scallion Rashal; and Joe Foster, who was a special friend of the family and like a son to Dorothy.

Our Mom.  At the top of her list was God always.  She loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She touched a lot of hearts and led a lot of people to Jesus.  Our mom was the soul heart of our family.  Always was a great cook, hard working, and most of all, the best mom that 6 kids could ask for.  Dorothy Lee Scallion, a father, a mother, and amazing woman.  Thank you Jesus for a wonderful mom.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jason Woods, Jake Russell, Mason DeLacerda, Logan Young, Carson Young, Ben Edgin, Meagan Causey, Ethan Hanrahan, and Darben Causey.  Honorary pallbearer will be Elray Woods, Jr.

The family would like to thank Courtyard of Natchitoches staff and administration as well as Hospice of Natchitoches for the care of their mother, Dorothy.
