Dorothy Ferrier

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Ferrier will be held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at Hargis Baptist Church in Montgomery, LA. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery near Montgomery. The family will receive friends from 2 pm until service time on Sunday at Hargis Baptist Church. Dorothy Ferrier, 78 years of age and a lifelong resident of Montgomery, LA passed away on December 6, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to Alphonse Necaise and Hazel Bobinger on May 3, 1941, in Kiln, MS. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse Necaise and Hazel Bobinger, husband, Willard Wesley Ferrier, Sr.  and sister, Lottie Slaydon. Dorothy loved her family fiercely, she enjoyed dancing, music, especially Elvis,  gardening, traveling, and cooking for the family. One of her favorite past times was watching her hummingbirds feed while sitting on the porch drinking french vanilla cappuccino with her dogs Kelsey and Lily. She and her husband Wesley were members of Hargis Baptist Church where they brought their children. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.  She is survived by her children, Lisa Ferrier-Welch and husband Billy, Willard Wesley Ferrier, Jr. and wife Michele, Michelle Ferrier Bynog, and Lesley Ferrier Tate; as well as 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Derek Welch, Willard Wesley Ferrier III (Trey), Lance Coleman, Gabriel Coleman, Jesse Roberts & Jeremy Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Willard Wesley Ferrier. Jr and Billy Welch.
