Donald Wayne Stroud

Donald Wayne Stroud, 75, died peacefully in his sleep on July 31, 2020, in Natchitoches, LA. Don was born on October 4, 1944, in Montgomery, LA to Elbert and Ila Mae Stroud. He enjoyed fishing and fixing things. He held many jobs during his life repairing any type of electronic device, most recently worked at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. Don is survived by his wife, Shirley; their children, Donna Guillory and Mickey Stroud (spouse Toni); and his grandchildren, Blake Guillory (spouse Holly), Nigel Stroud, Leila Stroud, Ian Stroud; and great grandchildren Ames and Asher Guillory. Don is survived by his sister Julie Rowzee and brother Michael Stroud and preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Ila Mae and sister Martha and brother John Elbert. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday August 4th at Mars Hill Church, beginning with a viewing and a service at 10:30. Brother Billy Shugert will officiate the ceremony with a eulogy provided by Mickey Murphy. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Don’s life. We would like to remain respectful of the current precautions surrounding the covid pandemic so we are only having this outside gravesite service. Please practice social distancing and wear a mask when we gather.
