Denny Keeth

May 1, 1974 — June 27, 2025

Denny Edwin Keeth was born on May 1, 1974, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and passed away peacefully at his home on June 27, 2025. Denny grew up in Natchitoches and graduated from Natchitoches High School in 1993. He briefly attended Northwestern State University while beginning a career in construction. From 1994 to 2016, Denny also worked offshore with Falcon Drilling and Transocean, dedicating over two decades to the oil industry.

When Denny began to lose his vision, he discovered a new calling. He joined the Louisiana Association for the Blind, where he found his dream career helping others. His advocacy work led him to meet with the Governor and several members of Congress, where he championed the rights of blind citizens. Even while facing personal challenges, Denny returned to school, attending Louisiana State University Shreveport and Bossier Parish Community College. He completed his degree through evening classes, driven by a deep passion for education and personal growth.

In his free time, Denny enjoyed camping, deer hunting, and caring for his beloved cats. As his vision declined, he chose to step away from work and spend more time with his family and friends. Though his eyesight may have faded, Denny’s light, determination, and spirit never dimmed. He touched countless lives with his strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to others.

Denny is survived by his brother Donny Keeth; sister-in-law Misty Keeth; and niece Heaven Mariah Keeth. He is also survived by his aunts Dian Sandefur, Deborah Tibbs, Doreen Johnson, and Marie Nelson; uncles Glen Tibbs and Tommy McCallister; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Lester Edwin Keeth; mother Darlene Keeth; grandparents Lewis and Margaret Keeth, Gladys McCary, and Eldon Woods; aunt Barbara McCallister; and uncle Wayne Nelson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, on Saturday, July 5th with Kevin Collier and Chris Waters officiating and Lottie Collier providing musical tributes. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the service at 2 p.m. Denny will be laid to rest beside his family at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches.

23rd Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
