Dennis Lane LaCaze

Dennis Lane LaCaze, 73, was born December 6th, 1947. He was called home Wednesday January 27th, 2021 in Houston, TX after a brief illness from COVID19. He was born in Chopin, LA to Harold and Doris Carnahan-LaCaze. He was a graduate of Cloutierville High School and attended Northwestern University for a short period. He had a passion for music, he was a very talented singer and entertainer. He was also an excellent guitarist. He loved to fish and truly loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a Work Equipment Supervisor as well as many other positions where he made many life-long friends before retiring after 41 years. He loved the outdoors and also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He truly never met a stranger. Dennis was a devoted Christian and would share his Christian beliefs with anyone who would listen. He leaves behind his wife, Sandra LaCaze; daughter, Lisa Unger; son-in-law, Kelley Unger; grandchildren Gavin Unger, Grace Unger, Ian Unger; brothers, Kenny (Stephanie), Murray (Linda), Darryl (Cindy), Joey, and Pat (Renee') LaCaze; sister, Marlene LaCaze-Paloma (Freddy); many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends (extended family, Linda and Tammy Johnson). He is preceded in death by his father, mother, great niece baby, Peyton Dubroc (the daughter of Beth LaCaze Dubroc and Roger Dubroc); and his grandparents. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 5th from 9 am until 11 am at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:30 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Natchez, LA with Rev. Charles Ray officiating. Concluding graveside services will follow at Emmanuel Cemetery in Chopin, LA. Those honored to be pallbearers are his grandson Gavin Unger and Austin Riddle, Fritz Winke, Chaston LaCaze, Anthony Palomo, Josh Dubroc. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude towards all those who have extended the many thoughts and prayers for Dennis and his family during a very difficult time.
