David Allen King

A graveside memorial service for David Allen King will be held at a later date at New Hope Cemetery in Choudrant, LA. David Allen King, 60 years of age and a resident of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away on June 8, 2020. He was born on July 18, 1959, to William and Catherine King in Baton Rouge, LA. He was a graduate of Zachary High School and attended LSU before entering into the United States Marine Corps. He honorably served his patriotic duty of which he was very proud. David enjoyed restoring anything and everything. Whether it was cars or guitars, he loved bringing things back to their natural beauty. He wasn’t a person of great means but he would have given the shirt off his back to anyone in need. David truly marched to the beat of his own drum and would travel the country living in many different areas over the course of his life. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Catherine King of Zachary, LA; and a sister, Sharon K. Duck of Thornfield, MO. Those left to cherish his memory and his kind smile are his siblings, Dan Harvey and wife Cindy of Lewisville, TX, Sondra K. McLaughlin of Livingston, LA, Carol K. Colvin and husband Benjie of Natchitoches, LA, and Bill King and wife Pam of Baton Rouge, LA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to all the people in David’s life that provided support and care, including the Veterans Administration and the different state health departments.
