David Paul Corrales

A service to celebrate the life of David Paul Corrales will be held at 11 am on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Old Ramah Cemetery in Ashland, LA.  The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday, August 16^th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.  Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Tyler Drummond, Richard Graham, Ben Dennis, Aaron Charpentier, Kane Hayes, Doug Feazell and Luke Taylor Paul.

Paul was born on May 14, 1968 to Tilman Paul Corrales and Laura Warren Corrales and passed away on August 10, 2023 at the age of 55.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Chloe’ Speed-Corrales and fiancé Aaron of New Iberia, LA; his longtime fiancé, Kelley Martin of Broussard, LA, her three sons Kyle, Chase, and Zachery; siblings, Ron Badgley and wife Vera of Dubach, LA, Gail Dennis of Bastrop, TX, Arlene Shockley of Natchitoches, LA, Brenda Graham of Natchitoches, LA, Jill Leonard and husband Kirk of Little Rock, AR, and Julie Carpenter and husband Donnie of Mansfield, TX; two grandsons, Luke Taylor Paul and Cooper Ray; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Paul was a hardworking man and was skilled in HVAC.  He attended NSU and later made his home in South Louisiana.  In his younger years he played football from the age of ten through his senior year at Byrd High school. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors. He was a huge New Orleans Saints fan, even during the “bad years”.  He dearly loved his family and constantly spoiled his daughter and grandbabies.  Paul was a music buff and enjoyed listening to classic rock, especially when he had the grill lit and good company as he prepared a delicious meal for his family and friends. He loved his Lord and Savior and lived by his word faithfully. He knew the bible inside and out. If you had a question, he had an answer. Paul was a wonderful father, a devoted “Papi”, a loving brother and uncle, as well as a dear friend to many. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
