Corene Louise Waters

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Corene Louise Waters will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Memory Lawn cemetery in Natchitoches, La. with Pastor Richard Winegeart officiating. Interment next to her husband, J.D. Waters, Sr. will follow. Corene, 84 years of age and a resident of Montgomery, LA. passed away on January 19, 2021 at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. Corene loved going to church and missed it terribly during the pandemic. She had an adventurous and independent spirit. Neither age nor her children could keep her from traveling and shopping. She enjoyed her yard work and especially mowing it. She loved playing Phase 10 with her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, bingo, and cards with whomever joined her at the table. She liked to sew and craft and would create gifts for family and friends. She was strong and self-reliant and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are, a son, J.D. Waters “Bubba” and wife Susie; daughters, Teresa Trichel and husband Andy, Emily Jo Davidson and husband Ronnie Gene, and Janice Dubois and husband Shannon. Sisters Lorene Desadier, Nelda Hernandez, and Mary Bordelon; Brothers Robert Welch, Johnny Welch, and Jerry Welch. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Waters Sr.; parents, William and Cornie Welch; daughters, Katherine Berry and Karen Sauce, and grandson Trey DuBois; sister Teresa Welch; brothers, Gus Welch, Stanley Welch, and Odell Welch. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Tony Roberts, Adam Waters, Luke Davidson, Joey Berry, Dylan Pardee, and Landon Treadway. Honorary pallbearers will be Kason Lashley, Gage Berry, Corey Sauce and R.J. Berry. The family would like to express great thanks and gratitude to Dr. Bryan Picou, Sr. and the ICU staff at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for their loving care and kindness. The family request wearing a mask and following Covid protocols.
