Clyde Harold Masson, Jr.

Funeral services for Clyde Harold Masson Jr., 83, of Cloutierville will be held Monday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Billy Shugart officiating in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Cloutierville. The family will receive friends from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13 at the funeral home. He was born on June 22, 1938, to Clyde “Tootie” H. Masson, Sr. and Emma Richter Masson in Natchitoches, La. He passed away Feb. 7, 2022, at VA Medical Center PCU facility in Pineville. He was a life-long resident of Cloutierville, a farmer, cattleman, small business owner, and served his country in the Army. He enjoyed visiting with friends and customers in the store and telling stories and tall tales. He was preceded in death by wife of 55 years, Carolyn Boydstun Masson, his parents, and brothers John “Yonie” Masson and Samuel “Sammy” A. Masson. He is survived by sons Clyde Harold “Trey” Masson III and wife Angie, and Patrick Masson and wife Tonya, all of Cloutierville; and William Masson and wife Stephanie of Natchitoches; daughter Terri Masson of Cloutierville; grandchildren Hunter Masson and Emma Masson of Cloutierville, Summer Beebe and husband Robert of Lena, Sydney Masson and Dayde Masson of Cloutierville; sister-in-law Donna Masson of Cloutierville; great-grandchildren Corbin and Lily Beebe; nieces Janna Maggio and Susan St.Pierre; nephews Jeffrey Masson and Stephen Masson; and godson Darrell Basco. He is also survived by his life-long friend Charles Roge’. Pallbearers will be Patrick Masson, Dayde Masson, Jeffrey Masson, John Daniel Masson, Sam Maggio, Joe Maggio, Jackson Masson, and Kenny Gallien. The family would like to thank Daddy’s sitters, Lisa, Tammy, Kevin, Kasey, and Leslie who took great care of him and loved Daddy like he was their family, because they became part of ours!!. The family would also like to thank Drs. Clement and Gongee, the VA hospital staff, and VA PCU staff in Pineville for taking such good and loving care of Daddy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Cypress Baptist Church,.1350 Hwy. 484, Natchez, La. 71456.
