Clifford was an active member of Hickory Grove Congregational Methodist Church where he served as an usher and helper in any way that he possibly could. He was faithful to attend services and especially loved Bible study. Though he was deaf and mute in this life, he rejoiced in the singing and worship.
Clifford was an extraordinary example of a life transformed by the power of God. He witnessed for Jesus through his Christian t-shirts and hats, his big smile, and his contagious laugh.
A deer hunter and fisherman, Clifford loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed woodwork and gardening. Most of all, Clifford loved Jesus, his family, and his church family.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents Luther and Lizzie Carnline Shoemaker; wife Doris Louellen Shoemaker; brothers, Clyde Shoemaker, Charles Raymond Shoemaker, and Bobby Shoemaker; sister Carolyn Ensinger; brother-in-law Steve Taylor; sister-in-law Lillie Shoemaker, and one nephew, Shad DeLane Taylor.
