Charles Raymond Williams

A funeral service to honor the life of Charles Raymond Williams will be at 1 pm on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at The First Baptist Church of Montgomery with Bro. Lloyd Whitman officiating.  Burial will follow at Summerfield Baptist Cemetery near Aloha, LA.  The family will receive friends from 9 am until service time on the 20th at First Baptist Church of Montgomery located at 739 Old Jefferson Hwy, Montgomery, LA 71457.  Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Kevin Mitchell, Greg Williams, Timmy Williams, Mark Williams, Greg Williams, Jr., Michael Leonard Williams, Dustin Mitchell, and Cody Bryant.  Honorary pallbearer will be Tracy Dement. Charles Raymond Williams, known as Charlie to all, was born on September 15, 1940, in Colfax, LA and departed this life on June 16, 2019, at Colfax Reunion Nursing Home. Charlie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred Brady Williams, Sr., and wife Claudia Dell Fuller Williams and James M. Jowers and wife Annie Antee Jowers; his parents, Earl Chapman Williams and wife Mable Inez Jowers Williams; brothers, Virgil Sherrill Williams, Allen Ellender Williams, Leonard Chapman Williams, and James Brady Williams; and a sister, Earle Elaine Williams. Charlie was a 1958 graduate of Montgomery High School.  He was proud to have served as a Corpsman in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era aboard an aircraft carrier in the Coral Sea.  He worked in the oil field, railroad, VA Hospital, and the I-49 project building bridges.  He retired at age 75 from Four Rivers Home Health with 23 years of service as an orderly and supplies manager. Charlie is survived by his wife, Judy Kuehn Williams; brothers, Irvin, Marlin, Wayne, and Mervin Williams; children, Charles Raymond Williams, Jr., Jeffery Dale Williams, Michael David Williams, Tonya Renee Williams Elizalde, Gayla King, Debbie Dunn, Tanya Dunn, Sheila Porter, and Howard Dunn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
